WICHITA, Kan. - Newman Women's Tennis hosted Dallas Baptist on Friday afternoon at West Genesis. The Jets took the matchup by a score of 5-2 in front of a home crowd.
The Jets and Patriots have not faced one another since the 18-19 season and Friday was the Jets first win over the Patriots since both were Heartland Conference members in March of 2018. The victory was a hige momentum builder for Coach
Shella Augspurger and her club as the season continues on.
The women conceded only the numbers two and three singles matches and the first soubles pairing to the Patriots.
Newman secured the doubles point as
Dana Issabayeva and
Isabela Campos Bifano as well as Narie Brunet and
Amber Hands rolled to easy victories in their matchups. The Jets only lost the top pairing 6-7 as
Antonia Ramos and Anna Zeikidze fell.

The Jets are back in action Saturday February 19th against Drury and Sudnay against Maryville in Springfield, Missouri.
