WICHITA, Kan. - Newman hosted its first MIAA match of the season as the Jets welcomed the Griffons of Missouri Western.  Missouri Western took the match 0-7 on Friday afternoon.

The Jets battled a talented Griffon squad that took all 6 of the singles matches and two of the three doubles matches to score all 7 points for the Griffons.

Isabela Campos Bifano and Dana Issabayeva took their doubles match over the Griffons' #2 pairing by a score of 6-1.

Issabayeva had the most competitive match in the singles as she led 4-3 in each set, but ultimately fell 6-4, 6-4.

Up next for the Jets is a visit from Southeastern Oklahoma State at 2 PM.
