WEATHERFORD, OK - Men's Golf competed in their third event of the season, playing in the Perkins Intercollegiate hosted by Southwestern Oklahoma State. 

Chase Martel shot a team low in the first round, with a score of 77. Noah Ahrens finished just one stroke behind Martel, with 78 in the opening round. 

Brett Klussman had the best overall score in a round for Newman, scoring a 70 in the second round. It was the lowest score for a Jet so far this season. 

Almost every Jet improved on their scores from a previous round, which led them to an overall team score of 922. The team went from a 320 in the first to going down to a 301 in the third. Martel was the highest placer for Newman, finishing tied for 43rd.

The men will return to the fairways next Monday and Tuesday, competing in the Holiday Inn Express Invitational in St. Joseph, Missouri
