WICHITA - Women's Basketball fell to #21 Fort Hays State on Sunday afternoon, in what was the team's last game of 2023 before Christmas.
The game was unfortunately not close, but the Jets continued to show their fight and spirit even in a tough loss.
It was a tough going from the get go, with the team only being able to score 4 points in the first quarter. The team would improve in the second quarter and were able to get a good amount of points while attacking the paint.
The second quarter was the best shooting quarter for the team in the game.
The two main players for the Jets this game were seniors
Amiya Josey and
Carissa Beck, who got a majority of their points in the second half. Beck had 3 three pointers, while Josey led the Jets in scoring with 11.
The team will now head to break for 2 weeks, where they will return to the court in an exhibition game against William Woods on December 30th. The team will officially get conference play back underway in early January, making trips to Emporia State and Washburn to start the year.
