ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Women's Basketball ended their final MIAA road game of the regular season with a 97-49 loss vs Missouri Western.
Lauryn Dubbert led the offense for Newman with 12.
McKenna Anderson finished with 10.
The Griffons shot lights out all game, ending with a 54% percentage on field goals. MWSU was 13 of 27 from behind the arc.
Newman trailed by 14 after the first quarter and wouldn't catch the Griffons the rest of the way. Missouri Western used a 14-0 scoring run to distance themselves from the Jets to go up 39-16.
MWSU more than doubled the Jets field goals, finishing with 38 to the Jets 18.
Newman is in a must win situation this Saturday to keep their postseason hopes alive. They'll need help in the upcoming days, needing Washburn to lose their final 2 games on Thursday and Saturday. NU will have to down UCO and get a Washburn loss to Northwest Missouri tomorrow and and Emporia State Saturday to lift the Jets into the MIAA tournament.Â
