WICHITA- Jets hosted Pittsburg State for their final game of the season.
Game 1:Â
The Gorillas came out swinging in the top of the 1st inning. Pitt State was able to tack on two early runs.Â
After the first inning, the Jets held the Gorillas scoreless. Megan Walz allowed only 6 hits through 7 innings pitched with 3 strikeouts.Â
The Jets offense struggled to piece their hits together. The offense recorded 5 hits, but couldn't put any runs on the board.Â
Newman fell just short, 2-0.
Gianna Navarro went 3-4 from the plate.

Game 2:Â
The Jets battled back early in the second game. In the bottom of the first inning, back to back doubles from Madi Canez and Anissa Ramos allowed the Jets to score 3 to take the early lead, 3-0.Â
The Jets continued their offensive momentum into the second inning, scoring 2 more runs. Another RBI from Canez knocked Navarro, who singled earlier in the inning, and Jaleigh Conkle, who walked earlier in the inning, in.Â
The Gorillas had an answer in the top of the 3rd inning and added 2 runs. However, a throw by Tori Waggoner to Laurie Cooke and then to Conkle saved a run from being scored which allowed the Jets to get out of the inning.Â
The Gorillas were able to add 2 more in the top of the 5th, but the Jets held them scoreless through the 6th and 7th innings, allowing the Jets to take the win 5-4.Â
Canez went 2-4 from the plate with 4 RBIs.Â
The Jets end their season with a record of 17-39 overall and 5-21 in the MIAA.
