WICHITA – Newman Sports Medicine will have new leadership in 2023-24. Former Assistant Athletic Trainer, Noah Rogers transitions into the Head Athletic Trainer spot, while Caitlin Himes joins the team in Rogers' former role. The changes come from Newman University's Sports Medicine provider, Ascension Via Christi.

Newman faithful worry no more, Cam Clark remains on the staff, fulfilling a different role. The 19-year NU veteran will take over the head responsibilities at Wichita Collegiate School and work as an Assistant AT with the Jets.

Noah Rogers is in his second year with Ascension Via Christi, yet enters his fourth at Newman. The Ottumwa, Iowa native spent two-years as a Graduate Assistant Athletic trainer prior to his full-time appointment in July of 2022.
Rogers had this to say, "I am grateful for the opportunity to continue working for Newman's student-athletes and alongside the NU coaches."

A graduate of Upper Iowa in 2020, Rogers has had many experiences at the Division II level, including assisting the operation of medical at the 2018 DII Wrestling Nationals. Newman is set to host the NCAA Division II Wrestling Nationals in Wichita. Six year later, Rogers will lead the charge this March.

"Change leads to roadblocks and adversity," said Rogers. "Change also brings forth opportunities and I will lean on my strong network of AT's and physicians to provide the best care to all student-athletes under our care."

Joining the Jets for her first year in 2023-24 is Caitlin Himes. Himes comes to Newman after stops at Baker and Missouri State previously. Himes is also a fellow Peacock with Roger's, earning her undergraduate degree in Athletic training with a minor in Psychology and Coaching Endorsement from Upper Iowa.

Himes is eager for her start. "It is great to reunite with Noah. Coming from the same school creates a trust beyond measures that I know will benefit the student-athletes here at Newman."
