WICHITA – Newman Wrestling staff has been named for the 2023-24 season. Head coach Ryan Smith announced the return of the Frame brothers and the re-addition of Mitch Arnold earlier this month.
2023-24 is poised to be a pivotal year for Newman Wrestling with the 2024 NCAA Division II Wrestling National Championships set to be hosted in Wichita. The Jets returned to the national stage with a qualifier in Jace Fisher in 2023.

With an all-alumni staff, Ryan Smith turns to past success for mentorship of the wrestlers on and off the mat. Each coach has had a resume building wrestling career. Smith said, "What an opportunity as we embark on year 20 for Newman Wrestling. It is incredible to have the opportunity to promote Kameron and Kendall Frame to the staff along with adding a familiar face in Mitch Arnold."

Mitch Arnold will be the Recruiting Coordinator / Assistant Coach. He rejoins the Jets after a previous coaching stint from 2013-2017. The 2012 Newman graduate was a two-time national qualifier in both 2010 and 2012. Arnold was the first NCAA National Qualifier in program history. While wrestling, the Wichita native graduated with a degree in Communications.

Arnold has also spent time coach at Andover Central and his alma mater, Bishop Carroll High School. During that time, he has also been the Assistant Greco-Freestyle Coach at the Wichita Training Center.

Kameron Frame earned his promotion this year along with his brother Kendall as assistant coaches. The two wrestled together their whole lives including stops at Goddard, Wyoming (NCAA DI) and of course their alma mater Newman. Kameron was a two-time All-American in 2019 and 2020. Kendall found his success on the mat at various levels. In high school, Kendall was a two-time state champ for Goddard, and he competed in Fargo where he earned All-American and was a Folkstyle National Champion.

Both Frames naturally have earned their undergraduate degrees in Management Information Systems and went on to earn their master's degrees in data Analytics.

Head Coach Ryan Smith later added, "It's going to be a lot of fun leading with this group as new ideas are formed every day to make the Newman Wrestling experience better every day."

Schedule and roster updates will continue to roll in throughout the month. Stay tuned to newmanjets.com for everything Newman Athletics.
