TOPEKA, KS - Men's tennis continued their fall season at the ITA Men's Central Regional this past weekend in Topeka. Four of the top men's players competed in the main competitions, playing in both singles and doubles action. 

Ali Mounir, Luca Penteado, Kurt Suarez Bruckner, and Isfandiyor Makhmudov represented Newman over the three day competition. Several others participated in the flight B competition. 

In the main singles competition, all four Jets were eliminated in the round of 64. 

Despite the early defeats, two of the men were able to reach the later rounds of the consolation bracket. 

Suarez Bruckner won in two sets in his first round matchup, and received a bye to the quarter finals, where he was narrowly defeated in two sets. 

Mounir would reach the semi finals of the consolation bracket, including winning his quarter final sets a combined 12-2. 

Andrea Bramati, Nicolo Lippolis, and Andrea Torrini would compete in Flight B competition throughout the weekend. Bramati and and Torrini would both make the semi finals of their respective consolation brackets, and barley missed out on the final. 

The men will be back in action on Tuesday, taking on Sterling College. It will be the first time this season that the Jets will play for official team records. The match is set to begin at 3 PM.
