Andover, Kan.- The Jets first team placed 2nd place after shooting a 596. The Jets fell just one stroke shy of first place (595) to Fort Hays State.
Through the first day of play the Jets first team found themselves in a great position to win the tournament. Through day one the Jets shot 283 as a team.
Grant Delsart led the Jets through day one shooting a 68 with six total birdies.
Charlie Townsend was only two strokes behind Delsart with a 70 through day one of play with three birdies. Braxtoon Muldoon had a good outing with a score of 71 adding 6 birdies.
Chase Martel added a 74 with an eagle and three birdies.
Tomas Asgeirsson added a 77 with four birdies. The Jets took the top spot after the first 18 holes of play.
On day two, the Jets shot 313 as a team. Delsart led the way again with a 71. Delsart tied for first place after shooting a 139 overall, but fell in the tiebreak which awarded him second place. Delsart added three birdies and one eagle on the day. Martel shot a 76 on the second day to snag 12th place. Martel added two birdies. Townsend was only a few shots behind Martel with a 152 overall. Muldoon shot an 86 on the second day of play. Asgeirsson scored 84 through the second 18 and birdied one hole.
The Jets finished 2nd with a total score of 596.
