Scouting the Jets 
 Coach Amy Briggs is entering her second season as the Jets head coach. The Jets return a core group of players. Jaeden McMillin  returns as the Jets leading scorer where she scored 217 points in her freshman season. Valeriya Lioukina also returns for the Jets as the second highest scorer returning from last year's squad with 200 points. Lioukina also led the Jets in rebounds with a total of 144. The Jets also added a few new faces in the off season including Saige Grampsass who transferred from Johnson County CC, where she averaged 13.3 points per game in the 23-24 season. The Jets were picked 14th in both the media and coaches preseason polls. 
 
Behind Enemy Lines
Arkansas Monticello was picked 10th in the GAC preseason coaches poll. The Blossoms finished the 2023-24 season with a record of 8-20, just 12 points behind Southeastern Oklahoma State in the poll. The Blossoms return Bailey Harris after she earned honorable mention all-conference last season. Harris averaged 14.6 points a game with 5.6 rebounds. 
 
Southern Arkansas was picked 11th in the GAC preseason coaches poll. The Muleriders are entering a new era with coach Darrick Matthews taking over this season. The Muleriders have almost an entirely new roster this season, but return eight to the roster. Addy  Tremie returns after earning All-GAC Honorable Mention. Last season, the Muleriders finished 13-15 overall and 8-14 in GAC play.
 
Central Christian is an NAIA school in McPherson, Kansas. The Tigers play in the Sooner Athletic Conference and they also participate in the NCCAA. Last season, the Tigers finished 5-23 overall, and just 1-21 in conference. 
 
William Jewell finished with a record of 6-22 last season. One of their six wins last season came against the Jets in non-conference play, 84-60. The Cardinals were picked last in the GLVC preseason polls. The Cardinals will return one of their top scorers, Ayden Shannon, who earned All-GLVC Third team honors last season. Shannon averaged 17 points and shot 42% from the field. Kate Hillyer also returns for the Cardinals after averaging 14.1 points per game. The Cardinals brought in ten new faces with eight of them being freshmen. 
 
The Series
The Jets have only met up with Arkansas Monticello once, in last year's crossover tournament. Newman fell to the Blossoms, 69-48. 
 
Against the Muleriders, the Jets have lost two or two played. The first match up was back in 2008 and the most recent match up was last season in the crossover tournament in Arkansas. 
 
The Jets are undefeated against Central Christian, winning all six match ups. The last match up was in November of 2022 where the Jets took the game 86-46. 
 
The Jets and Cardinals have met up six times. The Jets lead the series with four wins and two losses. 
 
Next Up
The Jets will hit the road for four non-conference games against Emporia State, Oklahoma Christian, Truman State, and Drury.
