Jets set to host Barclay for last game of 2024

Scouting the Jets 
Last weekend, the Jets faced their first two MIAA opponents. They first faced Northeastern State in Tahlequah. Against the Riverhawks, the Jets were battling in the first half of play by holding the Riverhawks to poor shooting in the first half, but the Jets couldn't get their shots to fall. Into the halftime break, the Jets trailed by two points. Then in the second half, the Riverhawks started to connect with their shots allowing them to pull away. The Jets fell 78-50. Paige Craft led the Jets with nine points, going 3-6 from the field. The Jets then faced Arkansas-Fort Smith. The Jets had a four quarter battle against the Lions. Lioukina led the Jets with 18 points and eight boards. Jaeden McMillin added 11 points with eight rebounds. However, the Jets fell just short at 61-54. Through the Jets first ten games, McMillin leads all scorers where she averages 13.1 a game while adding 6.1 rebounds per game. Lioukina is averaging nine points a game with 6.5 rebounds per game. So far this season, Saige Grampsas has made 21 threes, making over two a game with a 33.9% average. As a team the Jets are scoring 61 points a game while shooting 35.8% from the field and just 27.6% from the three point line. The Jets are also averaging 11.6 assists per game, out assisting their opponents by two assists a game. 
 
Behind Enemy Lines
The Bears first faced Oklahoma Wesleyan to kick off the year as an exhibition game. The Bears then headed to Ottawa and Mt.Mary for a two game road stint where they dropped both. Barclay then headed back home, where they dropped two more to N.Oklahoma College and Mt.Marty, both games listed as exhibition games. The Bears then competed in the Haskell Invitational where they lost all three games. Then, the Bears went back out on the road to face Westminster and Buena Vista, and could still not find a win. Finally, the Bears matched up against Kansas Christian where they won 60-44. Barclay then played Faith Baptist Bible, where they lost 83-43. The Bears most recently matched up with Emmamus, taking their second win of the year at 64-41. Perry and Montgomery both added 14 points in the victory.

This is the Jets first match up against the Bears. 
 
Next Up
The Jets will start 2025 on the road against Rogers State on January 2nd and Central Oklahoma on January 4th.
