SPRING HILL, Kan. -
Chase Martel finished in first place at the Konzem Capra Invitational this week, becoming Newman's first number one overall finisher at a tournament since joining Division II.
Martel had two of his best rounds of the year, shooting a 73 in the first round and scoring team low 72 in the second round. On the final hole of the tournament, Martel made a birdie to take home first place by one stroke. Martel ended the tournament with an overall scored of 145.
Noah Ahrens made a top twenty finish, improving on his first round score by three strokes and scoring a 77 in the second round.
Quinn Toomey and
Braxton Muldoon both greatly improved on their first round scores, with Muldoon getting fifteen strokes lower than his first round score.
