TOPEKA, Kan.- Men's Tennis traveled to Topeka to compete in the Central Regional ITA Individual Championships. The Jets team had four individuals compete including Ali Mounir, Nicolo Lippolis, David Javadov, and Andrea Bramati.
Ali Mounir Results:
Mounir drew Arkansas Forth-Smith opponnent, Eduardo Bribliesca in the opening round of singles play. Mounir fell short in the match after dropping both sets, 6-1 and 6-3. This loss ended his singles run in the tournament.
Andrea Bramati Results:
Bramati battled in his opening round of indiviauls. In the first set, Bramati lost a tight tie breaker at 7(13)-6(11). In the second set, Bramati dominated taking the set 6-3. His second set win took it to a tie breaker, where he dropped the match, 10-3. This ended his individuals tournament run.
Nicolo Lippolis Results:
Lippolis played Earle Matthew in this first round of individuals. Matthew was able to take both sets, 6-1 and 6-2. This loss ended his individuals tournament.
David Javadov Results:
Javadov found an early exit in his individuals run. His opponent, Phil Exner, took both sets at 6-3 and 6-0. This loss ended his individuals tournament.
Doubles Results:
Mounir and Lippolis were doubles partners in the tournament. In their first round of play they were able to dominant in their first match to take the win, 8-4. In the second round, they dropped a close match to Washburn at 8-6. This loss ended their doubles tournament run.
Bramati and Javadov also played in the doubles tournament. In the first round they took on a duo from Nebraska-Kearney but were unable to come out on top. They dropped their match, 8-3.
The Jets are back on October 5th to compete in the Pratt Collegiate Doubles Invite.
