Last Time Out
The Jets went out on the road last week to face their first two MIAA opponents of 2025. Newman first faced Rogers State on the road. Against the Hillcats, the Jets battled in the first half heading into the halftime break trailing by just four at 26-22. In the half, Layla Pierce led the Jets with seven points. Out of the halftime break, the Hillcats got hot on the offensive end and pulled away from the Jets. The Hillcats took the match-up, 51-39. Jaeden McMillin was the Jets leading scorer with ten points. Newman then went on to play Central Oklahoma on Saturday. Against the Bronchos, the first half was closely contested. Heading into the break, the Jets and Bronchos were even at 32. In the second half, the Bronchos began to pull away in the final quarters after shooting over 50% from the field and behind the arc. The Jets could never quite get back within reach. Newman would drop the contest 80-56. Paige Craft led the Jets in scoring with 20 points, her career high. 

Scouting the Jets 
The Jets are currently averaging 60.7 points per game, just four points behind their opponent's average points per game. From the floor, the Jets are shooting 35.9% from the field and 27.8% from three. Jaeden McMillin leads the team in points per game, averaging 12.4 points per game with 161 total points already scored this season. McMillin also leads the Jets in total rebounds, averaging 6.2 per game, and steals with a total of 12 on the year. Paige Craft and Valeriya Lioukina are also both averaging over eight points per game with over 100 points on the season for each of them. 

Behind Enemy Lines
Pittsburg State is currently ranked 13th in Division II via the WBCA coaches poll. The Gorillas are off to a 12-2 season with their two losses being against a ranked Ferris State squad and Nova Southeastern who was receiving votes at the time. Karenna Gerber and Macie Mays are both averaging over 16 points per game. Gerber and Mays are shooting just under 60% from the floor. While Grave Pyle is averaging over 14 points per game. Geber is also the leading rebounder with over eight per game. Harper Schreiner is also a player to note, as she is shooting 45% from three this season. Schreiner has also tallied 58 total assists on the year. The Pitt State offense is scoring over 80 points per game shooting 48.6% from the field. Pittsburg State will face Missouri Southern this week before facing the Jets on Thursday. 

Missouri Southern is off to an 11-5 start with a 3-1 record in conference. Their conference loss came against Central Oklahoma back in early December, losing 87-76. The Lions will face the Gorillas on Tuesday before heading to face the Jets on Saturday. The Lions are averaging 68 points per game and shooting 40% from the field and just 32% from behind the arc. Kaitlin Hunnicut and Ryan Franklin are both averaging above ten points per game and both shooting over 40% from the field. Franklin is also the Lions rebound leader with 7.5 a game. 

The Series
- Pittsburg State has not dropped a contest in the series against the Jets.

- The Jets are 2-7 against the Lions, with the last match-up going in favor of Missouri Southern.

The Jets will head out on the road to face the Jennies and Ichabods next week.
