Last Time Out
The Jets kicked off conference play with a 1-1 record. Newman snagged their first conference win against UAFS on December 6th, this would be their final conference game of 2025. In the win over UAFS, Jaeden McMillin led all scorers with 21 points and posted a double-double with ten rebounds. Jolene Ramiro and Paige Craft also posted double-digit points to help lead Newman to a win. The Jets would then finish out 2025, finalizing their non-conference slate with a 3-0 record. On December 13th, the Jets hosted Kansas Christian where they defeated the Falcons, 98-42. In the win, five Jets posted double-digit points with Alexis Martin leading the way with 20 points, 5-7 from three. The Jets recorded 46% from the three and from the field in this dominant win. On December 16th, Newman hosted McPherson College. Against the Bulldogs, the Jets took the dominant win 90-54. In this win, Martin led the Jets with 16 points. Three other Jets posted double-digit points. Delainey Wylie was one point shy of a double-double, pulling down 15 rebounds and scoring nine points. To end 2025, the Jets traveled to Kansas City to face GLVC opponent, Rockhurst. The Jets would defeat the Hawks, 69-51. McMillin and Valeriya Lioukina both posted double-doubles in the win. McMillin scored 21 points with 14 rebounds, Lioukina posted 14 points with 13 rebounds. The Jets outrebounded the Hawks, 62-33. In the first semester of play, the Jets posted a 7-4 overall record, with a 1-1 conference record. 

Scouting the Jets 
In 2025 the Jets averaged 71.3 points, allowing their opponents 61.6 points per game. Newman tallied 40.6% from the field and 29.7% from behind the arc. The Jets out-rebounded their opponents in 2025, 425-377, averaging 38.6 rebounds per game. Newman is averaging 15.2 assists per game. Individually, McMillin leads the Jets offense with 15.2 points per game on 45.4% shooting, while averaging 5.8 rebounds per game. Martin has brought in 9.7 points per game, totaling 107 total points scored. Martin leads the Jets offense with three-pointers made (18).  Lioukina leads the Jets in field goal percentage, 48.4%, averaging seven points per game and 5.1 rebounds per game. Monica Redondo has dished out a total of 29 assists, 2.6 per game while leading the Jets in minutes played. 
 
Behind Enemy Lines
The Hillcats posted a 2-3 record in December, taking their overall record to 4-8 with a 1-2 conference record. The Hillcats took their first conference win over Central Oklahoma, 66-63. The Hillcats conference losses came against No. 8 Pittsburg State and Missouri Southern. RSU ended 2025 with two non-conference games. On December 13th, RSU fell to Haskell Indian Nations, 69-77. On December 20th, RSU hosted Oklahoma Christian where they took the win, 70-66. As a team the Hillcats are averaging 61.7 points per game, while their opponents score 66.7 points per game. RSU is shooting 37.3% from the field, with just 25% from behind the arc. Individually, Ataya Casaus leads the offense with 9.9 points per game, shooting 33% from the field and 22% from behind the arc. Samantha Shanks and Bailey Layman are averaging around seven points per game a piece. Shanks leads the team in rebounds per game with 6.3. 

Central Oklahoma posted a 4-3 record in December play. Their three losses came in conference play against No. 8 Pittsburg State, Missouri Southern and Rogers State. The Bronchos ended 2025 with a three game win streak, in non-conference play. On December 16th, the Bronchos hosted Evangel, taking the 70-65 win. On December 18th, UCO defeated St. Mary's 54-42. Then, the Bronchos traveled to Sul Ross State where they took the win 75-62. On December 30th, the Bronchos faced McPherson College. The Bronchos took care of business against the Bulldogs, defeating them 96-44. As a team the Bronchos are averaging 63.8 points per game, 37.5% from the field, and 36.1% from behind the arc. Two Bronchos are averaging double-digits points per game, Nykaiya Dillard and Kaitlyn McCarn. Dillard has posted 13 points per game with 2.9 boards per game. McCarn has averaged 12.3 points per game while snagging 5.3 rebounds per game. Jerney Bennett leads the Bronchos with 7.9 rebounds per game, while scoring 8.7 points per game. 

The Series
- The Jets lead the series against the Hillcats, taking 14 wins and posting ten losses. The last match up went in favor of the Jets in February of 2025. Newman took that win, 67-41. 

- The Jets have taken just one win against the Bronchos, falling in 12 matchups. The last win against UCO came in February of 2023, where the Jets clinched a spot in the MIAA Tournament with a 72-66 win. 

Next Up
The Jets hit the road next week to face Pittsburg State and Missouri Southern. The Jets will face the Gorillas on January 8th at 5:30 PM. They will then face Missouri Southern on January 10th at 1:30 PM.
