Last Time Out

The Jets dropped last weekend's match-up at home last weekend to Emporia State.

In Saturday's match up,  The Jets were down 18 points at halftime. The second half saw the Jets make a furious comeback, cutting the lead down to one in the late minutes of the game, thanks to a basket by Jaeden McMillin. The Hornets eventually pulled away, winning the contest 69-63. McMillin scored 22 points while bringing in 8 rebounds. Saige Grampsas added 12 points, shooting 4-8 from behind the arc.

Scouting the Jets 

Through 26 games, the Jets average 56.8 points per game, shooting 34% from the field, and 29% from behind the arc. McMillin leads all Jet scorers with averaging 12 points per game. Paige Craft is averaging just over eight points per game while leading the team in assists. McMillin also leads the Jets in rebounds and steals. Paige Craft leads the Jets in assists with 57 on the year. Delainey Wylie is second in the conference in blocks with 50. Wylie is also shooting 36% from the three point line.

Behind Enemy Lines

The Bearcats are currently 13-14, 6-11 in conference. The Bearcats split last weekend, beating Northeastern State before falling to Arkansas Fort Smith. As a unit, Northwest Missouri averages just over 61.6 points per game while holding opponents to 61 points. The Bearcats shoot 39% from the field. Caely Kesten leads Northwest Missouri in scoring, averaging 14 points per game. Molly Hartnett comes in right behind Kesten, averaging 11 points per game. Kesten shoots 44% from behind the arc. Kelsey Fields leads the Bearcats in rebounding, pulling in seven rebounds per game. The Bearcats will close out the regular season facing off with Emporia State.

Missouri Western has a 17-8 record, 12-5 in conference. Like the Bearcats, the Griffons split last weekend, losing to Arkansas Fort Smith and defeating Northeastern State 96-74. The Griffons average 73 points per game, shooting 32% from behind the three point line. Alyssa Bonilla leads the Griffons in scoring with 17 points per game. Kassandra Caron is the team's leading rebounder. Bonilla also leads in assists, averaging five assists.

The Series

-The Bearcats lead the series 6-0 against the Jets. The Bearcats took the most recent contest this season, 79-49. 

-The Griffons have the historical edge over the Jets, leading the series 10-0.  Missouri Western won the most recent matchup, in February of 2024.
