ST. JOSEPH, Mo.- The Jets ended the regular season against the Missouri Western Griffons. Against the Griffons, the Jets fell 91-38.
How it Happened:
- For the first five minutes of play, the Jets and Griffons were trading off baskets. At the five minute mark, the Griffons had the 7-4 lead. The Griffons were then able to go on a large run that put the score at 17-4 with three minutes to go in the first quarter. A basket by
Jaeden McMillin stopped the run, then another basket a few minutes later by McMillin put the Jets within ten points at 19-9. Free throws by
Paige Craft helped the Jets close the deficit to just eight points to end the quarter.
- The Griffons went on a 17-0 run in the second quarter. This run took the Griffons to a 36-11 lead with under two minutes to play in the half. The Jets scored their first points of the quarter at the 1:28 mark with a basket by
Charlize Williams. This basket was the only Jets score in the quarter. Heading into the halftime break, the Griffons had the 40-13 lead.
- The large deficit that the Griffons created in the first half was too much to overcome for the Jets. The Griffons outscored the Jets 34-11 in the third quarter to make it a 74-24 game heading into the final ten minutes of play.
- The Jets lost the fourth quarter by just three points at 17-14. The Griffons would take the contest, 91-38.
