EMPORIA, Kan.- Women's Tennis traveled to Emporia to open up MIAA play against the Hornets. The Jets fell, 4-3.
The Hornets started off the day taking the doubles point, with wins at all three spots. This gave the Hornets the 1-0 advantage heading into singles play. At the No. 2 spot,
Ani Zeikidze took the first set 6-4 but her opponent was able to come back to take the second and third set to give the Hornets their second point. The Hornets took the No. 3 spot in straight sets to make it 3-0.
Luna Feillon gave the Jets their first point at the No. 4 singles spot taking both sets at 6-3. The Hornets were then able to take the No. 5 singles match to clinch the match win at 4-1. At the No. 6 singles,
Anastassiya Kim was able to battle for her three set win with a 6-0 win in the first set and a 6-4 win in the third set. This made the score 4-2.
Dana Issabayeva also took her match in three sets, taking sets two and three at 6-3 and 7-5. Emporia State would take the team match 4-3.
Up Next: Women's Tennis will head to Washburn on Thursday to take on the Ichabods at 1 PM. Men's Tennis will also be in action against the Bods on Thursday, starting at 1 PM.
