Last Time Out
Last week the Jets faced Central Oklahoma and Rogers State. On Wednesday night in Edmond, Oklahoma the Jets faced the Bronchos. McMillin got the Jets started, and baskets by Craft and McMillin gave the Jets an early lead. The Bronchos responded with a run of their own, taking the first quarter 12-6. To open up the second, Newman gained some momentum and made it a two point game. The teams began to trade baskets throughout the quarter. The score was 23-20 at the half with the Bronchos in front. To open up the third quarter, the Bronchos went on an 8-0 run to extend their lead. Despite efforts from Newman late in the quarter, the Bronchos stayed ahead, 45-34. McMillin kicked it off for the Jets in the fourth quarter. Newman cut the deficit to six, however the Bronchos offense could not be stopped. Central Oklahoma took the game, 67-51. McMillin recorded a double double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Perez had two blocks and eight rebounds.
On Saturday night in Claremore, Oklahoma Newman faced Rogers State. Redondo started the action early for the Jets. Baskets by Craft, McMillin, and Carlson gave the Jets the lead by two at the end of quarter one. To open up the second quarter the Hillcats tied it up at 16. The Jets and Rogers State both performed offensively, trading off baskets and multiple three-pointers the remainder of the second quarter. The Hillcats would take the lead to end the half 29-26. Opening up the second half for the Jets was McMillin. Newman was able to take the lead 37-36 heading into a media timeout. Following the timeout, Rogers State gained some energy with a run of their own and free-throws to take the lead again. The Hillcats remained on top at the end of the third, 48-44. To close out the game, the Hillcats went on a run to extend their lead. The Jets kept their offensive going, however it was not enough to close the gap from Roger State. The Hillcats would take the game in a close match, 65-58. Craft led the team with 13 points followed by Redondo with 11.
Scouting the Jets
The Jets average 65.0 points per game. Newman has tallied 36.4% from the field and 29.2% from behind the arc. The Jets average 6.3 steals, 3.6 blocks per game, and 37.1 rebounds per game. Individually, McMillin leads the Jets offense with an average of 15.6 points per game. McMillin is currently sixth in scoring in the MIAA. McMillin also leads the Jets with 6.9 rebounds per game. Martin continues to lead the Jets offense with three-pointers made (41) and is the second leading scorer for the Jets. In the MIAA individual rankings, Martin currently sits in fourth for three-point field goals averaging 2.0 per game and has a percentage of 34.7%.
Paige Craft leads the Jets in minutes played. Craft currently leads the team in assists with 49 total while averaging 8.4 points per game.

Behind Enemy Lines
Missouri Southern recorded their last win against Northeastern State University on January 31st. The Lions last played ranked Pittsburg State on February 2nd, the Lions came short 72-66. Missouri Southern and Newman have met previously this year with the Lions taking the game, 71-63. The Lions average 75.7 points per game and have a field goal percentage of 40.7%. The team averages an impressive 42.0 rebounds per game. Individually, Grace Fraizer leads the Lions with a scoring average of 16.3 and also has a three-point percentage of 37.5%. Nariah Clay leads the team in minutes played. Ashlyn Alloway records 8.8 rebounds per game and is the second leading scorer with 14.6 points per game.
The Gorillas are ranked No.15. Pittsburg State is coming off two wins against Arkansas-Forth Smith and Missouri Southern.
