EDMOND, Okla.- The Jets traveled to Edmond, Oklahoma to face the Bronchos for a doubleheader on Friday, May 1st. The Bronchos would take game one, 14-0 and game two, 5-0.
Game one vs Central Oklahoma: NU 0, UCO 14
-In the second inning,
Lauren McNaught singled to right field, but Central Oklahoma responded with a surge. Brooklyn Lyles' three-run homer and a series of strategic plays, including a score on an error and an RBI single, propelled Central Oklahoma to a 5-0 lead by the end of the inning.
-The third inning saw the Bronchos extend its lead further with a two-run homer, following an RBI single by, pushing the score to 8-0.
-In the fourth inning, Central Oklahoma continued its offensive momentum. McKenzie Niehus and Brooklyn Lyles both homered, contributing to a six-run inning that widened the lead to 14-0.
-The Jets were unable to score throughout the game, and Central Oklahoma maintained its lead through the fifth inning, securing a 14-0 victory through five innings.Â
Game two: NU 0, UCO 5Â
-The third inning saw Central Oklahoma take the lead. Brooklyn Ryan reached on a fielder's choice and later advanced to third on a double. Ryan then scored on a sacrifice fly, giving Central Oklahoma a 1-0 lead at the end of the third inning.
-In the fifth inning, the Bronchos tripled to right center for Central Oklahoma, subsequently scoring on a single by Ryan. This extended Central Oklahoma's advantage to 2-0 by the end of the fifth inning.
-UCO expanded its lead significantly in the sixth inning, bringing the score to 5-0. The Bronchos would take game two, 5-0.Â
