Joplin, Mo. - Newman Women's Golf competed at the MSSU Women's Fall Invite. Finishing 8th overall, the Jets fought hard on day two to go +70 as a team.

 

Monday the team's first round did not go according to plan for the Jets as they recorded just five birdies across 36 holes. Newman was led by Senior Isabella Callaba with a score of 77 in the first round. Sophomore Asdise Bjarnadottir finished +8 putting her in a good position going into day two. 

 

Tuesday saw improvement with the team scoring 4 strokes better than Monday. The team was led by Isabella Callaba with 76 in the second round with an even front 9. Freshman Laura Stewart went eight strokes over par, shooting her up the leader board five places.

Newman has their home tournament end of the month at Terradyne Country Club in Andover, KS on September 21st and 22nd.
