Brandy Muncy is entering her 11th year as the head coach of the Newman cheer and dance team in 2024-25.


During the 2022-2023 season, Cheer and Dance competed in their first ever Invitational at the Fort Hays Invitational. In their first ever invite in program history, Dance took home 1st place and and Cheer took 3rd place.

Under Muncy’s tutelage, the spirit squads have increased their involvement in community events, and have helped showcase Newman school spirit at events both on- and off-campus over the past four years.

Muncy was a member of the dance team at Maize High School, as well as Cowley County Community College and Wichita State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree. She also spent four years as a member of the Wichita Thunder dance team.

In addition to her work with the Jets, Muncy also has taught dance at Young World Dance Studio in Wichita for 14 years. Muncy and her husband, Matt, have three children, Carter, McClain and Hudson.
