Tyler Bugner

Tyler Bugner enters into his first season with the Jets in 2025-26. 

Bugner had a historic career at Newman University. In 2014, he was Heartland Conference Freshman of the Year, 1st Team All-Conference, and earned conference Hitter of the Week (March 3). In 2015, he earned Honorable Mention All-America (NCBWA), NCBWA All-South Central Region, Daktronics South Central All-Region, ABCA/Rawlings NCAA DII All-Region, Heartland Conference Co-Hitter of the Week (March 16), 1st Team All-Conference, and set the school’s Division II batting average record (.436). In 2016, he was Heartland Conference Player of the Year, 1st Team All-Conference, Hero Sports Preseason DII All-America, NCBWA preseason All-South Central Region, NCBWA South Central Region Hitter of the Week and Heartland Hitter of the Week (April 28), broke his own batting average record (.439), First-team All-South Central Region, Third-team All-America (ABCA & NCBWA), and received Honorable Mention All-America from the Division II Conference Commissioners Association. Bugner earned his bachelor of arts in science from Newman. 

Professionally, Bugner was drafted in the 21st round of the 2016 MLB First-Year Player Draft by the Colorado Rockies and played three seasons in the Minor Leagues.
