Elhad Emerllahu

Elhad Emerllahu is entering his second season as a graduate assistant coach for the Newman women’s basketball program in 2016-17.

Emerllahu assists in all aspects of team and individual game preparation, as well as recruiting and team operations.

In Emerllahu’s first season as a graduate assistant, the Jets reached their fifth Heartland Conference tournament in the past six years after compiling 12 victories despite suffering multiple devastating injuries during the season.

Emerllahu spent the summer of 2016 in his native Kosovo assisting on the coaching staff for the men’s senior national team.

Emerllahu played the final two seasons of his college career for Newman, appearing in 45 games and putting up 9.0 points and 3.8 rebounds per game over his time with the Jets. He averaged 15.9 minutes during his junior year on a squad that finished 20-8 and reached the NCAA postseason for the first time in program history.

The San Antonio product played his first two seasons at Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa, and is the all-time leading scorer at Tom C. Clark HS in San Antonio.
