Newman University Athletics

Taryn Torgerson enters her fifth year as the Head Women's Golf Coach and fourth year as the Head Men's Golf Coach and Director of Golf at Newman University, after joining the Jet family May 1, 2019.

Torgerson played all four years on the WSU women's golf team.  Taryn claimed two individual conference championships with her first coming in 2016 when the Shockers were still apart of the Missouri Valley Conference, before concluding her collegiate career capturing the 2018 American Athletic Conference individual title.  She also helped the Shockers claim two team conference championships in the Missouri Valley.

Before coming to Newman, Torgerson served as a student assistant coach for the Wichita State University women's golf team.

A native of Buhler, Kan., finished her bachelor's degree in sports management from Wichita State University and received her master's degree in sports management from Wichita State in December 2019.
