Mies joined the staff as Graduate Assistant for Newman Wrestling program in 2019-2020.
Mies assists with game and practice preparation and team and individual training.
Before taking the position as Graduate Assistant, he wrestled here at Newman University winning MIAA championship and Freshman of the Year honors. He was also Jetspy Rookie of the Year in 2015. In his final two years he was a two-time All-American and two time regional champion. In his last year wrestling at Newman he was named Jetspy Athlete of the Year.
Before coming to Newman, he wrestled at Andale High School. He was a 3 time finalist and won a State Championship in his final year.
Mies currently resides in Colwich, KS with his wife Danielle. He has a degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant and a Bachelors in Health Science. He is currently working on his Masters in Business Administration.
