Newman University Athletics

Luis Hernandez is entering his 2nd year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and 4th year at Newman in 2025-26. 

Hernandez joined the Jets in the Fall of 2022 as the Graduate Assistant for Athletic Training and held that position until 2024.

A Wichita State grad, Hernandez spent time interning with Newman University Sports Medicine during his undergrad years. He earned his Bachelors in Athletic Training from the Shockers.

Hernandez is currently pursuing his MBA from Newman and is expected to graduate this coming spring, 2024.
