Zach Brake is entering his sixth year at Newman University in 2025-26 and was named Associate AD for Advancement and Operations in October 2025 after serving four years as Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing & Communications.

In his current role, Brake oversees fundraising initiatives, external relations, and departmental operations, while continuing to provide oversight in branding and communications. As Assistant AD, he was responsible for the execution of sponsorships and branding alignment while managing all publications—both print and digital—throughout the sports seasons.
He has served on numerous committees, including the MIAA Basketball Tournament Committee (2022–present), where he was named Committee Chair for the 2026 MIAA Basketball Championships. He also served on the MIAA Technology Task Force (2024). Brake was the primary media contact for the 2024 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships hosted by Newman at Park City Arena (formerly Hartman Arena).

The Associate AD is also an adjunct professor at Newman University, teaching in the Sports Media and Promotion program. Courses he has taught include Organization and Administration of Sport, Facility and Event Management, and Social Media & Fan Engagement.

In 2021–22, the Columbus, Ohio native was responsible for coverage of all of Newman’s then 19 sports teams. His work included writing releases for newmanjets.com, producing the JetCast, managing in-game statistics, and overseeing multimedia content across more than 50 team social media accounts.
Among his featured projects are the athletics logo and brand redesign released in September 2021 and the announcement of Newman’s full membership into the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association in June 2022.

Brake joined Newman as a Graduate Assistant for Athletics in fall 2020. After earning his MBA in Data Analytics from Newman in August 2021, he assumed the communications role for Newman Athletics.

Prior to Newman, Brake earned a B.A. in Global Management with an emphasis in Supply Chain and Operations Management from Earlham College in May 2020. During his time at Earlham, he was a pitcher for the Quakers over three seasons. Brake also spent one season as a member of the baseball team at Saint Joseph's College prior to the school’s closing in May 2017.

Brake and his wife, Rylee, have one son, ZJ.
