Martín Penafiel is in his first year as an assistant for men's soccer. He will assists with all facets of the program including, game & practice preparation, position specific training, scouting, recruiting, scheduling and community outreach.
Originally from Lima, Peru he grew up playing in the Club de Fútbol Sporting Cristal and Colegio Ricardo Bentin. Once in the United States, he played for Coach Brown's Wichita Arsenal Soccer Club, Wichita Southeast HS, Cloud County, Wichita Blue (Lone Star Alliance/USISL) and Wichita Sounders/Mitre Cup Indoor Nationals Finals Men's Open Division.
Coach Martín brings over 25 years of coaching experience at the club, high school and college level. He joins the Jets coaching staff after three seasons with Andover High School where he served as the head coach of the men's and women's soccer teams.
Currently, he is the head soccer coach of various FC Wichita youth teams, and is going on his fourth season as a member of the USL2 FC Wichita Men's Senior Team coaching staff.
