Jets Host Rattlers in Dig Pink Night

Newman Volleyball hosts St. Mary's Thursday night in the annual Dig Pink match at 7 p.m. inside Fugate Gymnasium. The Jets, who have won five of their last seven matches, will be warming up in pink shirts, and donations to go toward breast cancer research will be taken at the match.

About the Jets...
Newman looks to establish its longest winning streak of the season tonight. The Jets have won two-straight after defeating Central Oklahoma in a five-set thriller. Newman is led by junior Chelsey Potter, who is responsible for 229 kills this season, and has added 291 digs to her resume. Defensively, Amy Shorette is NU's dig leader with 352 digs from the libero position, while Caroline Painter's 784 set assists is also a team-high.

Scouting the Rattlers...

St. Mary's has struggled to a 4-17 overall record, and a 3-4 record in Heartland Conference play. The Rattlers are led offensively by Kirsten Chapman's 166 kills, while Katelyn Kershner has posted 144 kills in 21 matches this season. Defensively, Stephanie Flores cleans up the floor for the Rattlers, leading the squad with 304 digs, most of which pass through the team's leading setter, Alexa Ignasiak, who has 351 assists this season.
