GOODWELL, Okla. - Playing in OPSU's Oscar Williams Fieldhouse for the second time in 17 hours, the Newman volleyball team followed up Friday night's dominating victory over Oklahoma Panhandle State with an equally crushing performance Saturday afternoon, earning a 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-11) win over the Aggies.

Newman (11-19, 6-6) improved upon Friday night's outing, where they hit .333 as a team, posted a .433 team attack percentage in Saturday's finale. Oklahoma Panhandle State (1-24, 0-12) committed 17 attack errors, and recorded just 27 kills in the match.

Offensively, The Jets were led by senior Angie Bennett and junior Chelsey Potter who posted nine kills each. Freshman Sarah Bailey added six kills in the Newman sweep. Potter also led Newman with six digs in a match where nine different Jets recorded two or more digs. Caroline Painter's 28 assists was a match-high as well.

With the win, the Jets improve to 11-19 overall, and 6-6 in Heartland Conference play. After this weekend's action, Newman is currently one spot out of making the Heartland Conference Championship tournament. They will get their shot at fourth-placed Texas-Permian Basin in their regular season finale next Saturday in a 2 p.m. contest at the Falcon Dome in Odessa.
