Newman Volleyball opens a weekend chock full of volleyball when they host the Dallas Baptist Patriots Thursday evening inside the warm, dry confines of Fugate Gymnasium. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.

Scouting the Patriots...
Four straight losses at the Pitt State Invitational last weekend have dropped the Patriots to 8-11 on this season, with a 2-2 record in Heartland Conference play. Dallas Baptist is led offensieely by Kaylyn Frink, who has posted 201 kills this season, but teammate Kristin Secord is equally dangerous, netting 196 kills through 19 games in 2009. Don't forget about Christina Steinkruger. The hitter/setter has 266 assists to go along with her 127 kills this season. May Allen is the Patriots' primary setter, posting 419 assist this season, while Amanda Emmert has taken care of the dirty work, digging 388 attacks so far this season.
