Newman opens its Lone Star weekend with a visit to Weatherford, Okla., to take on Southwestern Oklahoma State. Newman is 2-2 this season after back-to-back home losses to Rockhurst and Texas A&M-Commerce. All of Newman's contests this season have ended with a 1-0 score. Junior transfer Sade Humphrey has scored both of Newman's goals this season.
Southwestern Oklahoma State, meanwhile, is 2-2 after knocking off New Mexico Highlands, 3-2, on Sunday. The Bulldogs have scored eight goals this season, but have allowed nine goals.
A Newman win would give the Jets a 3-2 edge in the all-time series.
Newman at Midwestern State
Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010 || 3 p.m. || MSU Soccer Field || Wichita Falls, Texas
The Jets conclude their swing through the Lone Star Conference by traveling to Wichita Falls, Texas, for a 4 p.m. contest against Midwestern State. The Mustangs are 3-1 on the season after suffering their first loss last weekend at the Dr. Pepper Classic in Edmond, Okla., where they were defeated in a 2-0 decision by St. Edward's. MSU has scored eight goals this year, while allowing just four.
MSU holds a 1-0-1 lead in the all-time series, after the Jets and Mustangs battled to a 1-1 tie last season in Wichita.
