Women's Soccer Drops Fourth-Straight, 4-0

Box Score DALLAS, Texas - The Newman women's soccer team saw its losing streak extend to four with a 4-0 loss to Dallas Baptist Thursday evening at Lady Patriot Field in Dallas, Texas. Mei-Mei Senthavy and Bianca each recorded two shots to lead the Jets offensively.

-DBU scored its first goal in the 34th minute when Lindsay Cox's shot fron 20 yards out snuck past Newman keeper Christina Farid to give the Patriots a 1-0 lead.

-Newman gave DBU a gift just four minutes later when the Jets attempt to clear a corner kick was mis-played, resulting in an own goal that pushed the DBU advantage to 2-0 heading into halftime.

-The Patriots scored two goals in the second half. The first of which came in the 52nd minute, and the final of which came in the 80th minute.

-Farid posted four saves, but allowed four goals in the match.

-Dallas Baptist out-shot Newman 22-7 in the contest. The Patriots put eight shots on goal, and limited Newman's shots-on-target to two.

-DBU was given 15 corner kick opportunities. Newman received one.

With the loss, the Jets fall to 3-6-3 on the season, and 1-4-1 in Heartland Conference play. They will return to action Saturday, traveling to Austin, Texas to take on the St. Edward's Hilltoppers in a 1 p.m. contest.
