WICHITA - Christina Farid posted six saves but the Newman women's soccer team was dealt a 1-0 loss by Heartland Conference foe St. Mary's Friday night at Wilkins Field. Farid's only blemish was a 77th-minute Rattler goal.

- St. Mary's' Ronika Cavazos scored the game-winning goal in the 77th minute when she tapped in a close range shot.

- Newman goalkeeper Christina Farid made six saves in the match but fell to 3-8-3 on the season with the loss.

- The Jets were out-shot 14-10 in the game.

- Lorielle Slates led the Newman offense with three shots followed by Mallory Hurst with two.

- Seven different Jets attempted shots in the match, forcing five Rattler saves.

- Newman was called for 13 fouls in the game while St. Mary's was whistled for nine.

- Both teams committed one offisides violation.

With the loss the Jets fall to 3-8-3 on the season and 1-6-1 in Heartland Conference play. They will return to action Sunday October 23rd at 1 p.m. at Wilkins Field against conference rival Texas A&M International.
