Newman (4-8-3) vs. Central Oklahoma (13-3)

Wednesday, October 26 ||7 p.m. || Wilkins Field || Wichita, Kansas || Live Stats

The Newman women's soccer team concludes the home portion of its 2011 schedule Wednesday, hosting the Central Oklahoma Bronchos in a 7 p.m. contest at Wilkins Field. The Jets will look put an end to UCO's 13-match winning streak.

Newman enter Wednesday's match with a 4-8-3 record. Eight Jets have scored goals this season. Freshman Mei-Mei Senthavy and sophomore Lorielle Slates are currently tied for the team lead in goals scored with two goals each. Senior Christina Farid will be making her 74th-consecutive start in goal for the Jets, and will try to slow down a UCO offense that averages 2.31 goals per game.

Central Oklahoma enters the match as winners of 13-straight matches after a 3-1 win at Southwestern Oklahoma State Sunday in Weatherford, Okla. The Bronchos have had little trouble against Heartland Conference opponents, picking up wins over Texas A&M International (3-1), St. Edward's (2-0), St. Mary's (4-0) and Dallas Baptist (4-1) so far this season. UCO's last loss came on Sept. 7 in a 3-0 setback to Abilene Christian.

The Bronchos are ranked No. 20 in the latest NSCAA national coaches' poll.

Newman will play it's final game of the 2011 season Sunday, travelling to Odessa, Texas, to battle the Texas-Permian Basin Falcons in a 1 p.m. contest. A win would secure a berth into the Heartland Conference Championship tournament for the Jets.
