The Newman volleyball team concludes the home portion of its 2011 schedule with a pair of late-week games against Arkansas-Fort Smith on Thursday and Friday. Both games will begin at 7 p.m., with Friday's contest serving as the team's senior night. The Jets will look to put an end to a five-match losing streak dating back to a 3-1 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State on Oct. 8 in Wichita.

Newman enter Thursday's match with a 4-19 record, and a 1-9 mark in Heartland Conference play. The Jets are lead by sophomore Haley Dotson's 308 kills, averaging 3.58 kills per set. Sophomore Gabby Loxterman is leading the team with 672 assists, while defensively senior Kristen White has registered 382 digs in 86 sets.

Arkansas-Fort Smith enters Thursday's contest on a two-match winning streak after back-to-back wins over St. Mary's and Oklahoma Baptist. The Lions are led by Heidi Luks' 306 kills. Whitney Hale has been the primary setter for UAFS, assisting on 1,074 kills. Defensively, Keely Rivera is averaging 4.99 digs per set.

The Lions will also be looking for revenge after Newman knocked them off on their own court last season in Fort Smith. UAFS owns a 3-1 lead in the all-time series, and is 2-0 in Wichita.
