The Newman volleyball team returns to action Saturday, as they continue the second of four straight conference home games against Oklahoma Panhandle State. The Jets will look to rebound after losing to Texas-Permian Basin in four sets on Thursday. The Aggies are looking to snap an 18 game losing streak, including a string of six-straight three-set sweeps.
Newman enter Saturday's match with a 3-13 record, and an 0-5 mark in Heartland Conference play. The Jets are lead by sophomore Haley Dotson's 213 kills, averaging 3.33 kills per set. Sophomore Gabby Loxterman is leading the team with 455 assists, while defensively senior Kristen White has registered 284 digs in 64 sets.
Oklahoma Panhandle State is coming off of a sweep at the hands of Arkansas-Fort Smith. The Aggies are led by Hanna Syling's 145 kills. April McCain has been the primary setter, assisting on 356 kills. Defensively, Alexandra Schmitt is averaging 3.45 digs per set.
