WICHITA - The Newman wrestling team will host No. 18 (NJCAA) Pratt Community College Wednesday Jan. 18 inside Fugate Gymnasium. The Jets will look to improve upon their 1-6 dual record this season after going 0-4 at the Tracy Borah Duals Saturday in Gunnison, Colo.

The Beavers will visit Fugate Gymnasium after wrestling in the Roger Denker Open in Warrenburg, Mo. Sunday. The Beavers have participated in several tournaments this season including the Jet Invitational where they finished in 10th place. Tim Tuaquoi (285 lbs.) grabbed a team-best third place while Nick Collins (165 lbs.) claimed fourth inside Fugate Gymnasium. Pratt CC last faced Newman in a dual in 2009, claiming a 31-9 victory.

The Jets hope to be ready after several injuries forced forfeits in the Tracy Borah Duals on Saturday. JP Carter will make his 2012 Newman debut in the 149 lb. division while Mitch Arnold will look to build upon his winning streak, having not lost a bout since a fourth place finish in Midwest Classic on Dec. 19. Arnold has not faced a wrestler off the Pratt CC roster yet this season.

Following Wednesday's dual the Jets will be back in action Sunday Jan. 22 when they travel to Warrenburg, Mo. for the UCM Dual Jamboree hosted by the University of Central MIssouri. The event is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
