AUSTIN, Texas - With a light rain falling during the match against nationally ranked St. Edward's on Thursday afternoon, the Jets had to find a way to work around two obstacles. After the 90 minute battle, the Jets fell 5-0.
In the first three minutes, St. Edward's Rachel Murray found the net to score the first goal of the game. The Jets were not able to take control from there. After four more shots by the Hilltoppers and a shot by Newman's
Bonnie Charlton, St. Edward's advanced the lead to 2-0 in the 22nd minute mark. Three minutes later, St. Edward's made another goal to end the first half, 3-0.
It wasn't long into the second half when the Hilltoppers scored its fourth goal. Less than eight minutes later in the 59th minute St. Edward's scored its final goal of the game taking the 5-0 win over the Jets.

Kayleigh Renfro had five allowed goals and five saves.
Newman moves to an overall 5-7 record and 2-4 in Heartland Conference play. The Jets travel to compete against Dallas Baptist on Saturday with a kick-off time of 12 p.m.
