WICHITA – The Newman women's soccer team traveled to play the #21 Dallas Baptist Patriots on Saturday afternoon. The Jets could not contain the Patriots losing 4-1.
 
It took the Patriots 10 shots in the first half, with only three on goal, to score the first goal of the match in the 27^th minute mark. After the first half, the score was Patriots 1, Newman 0.
 
The Jets came out strong in the second half. In the 50^th minute Newman's Blair Terry chipped in a loose ball over the keeper's head for a Jets goal. The goal tied the match, 1-1. Less than nine minutes later the Patriots scored two goals for the 3-1 lead. In the 75^th minute Mei-Mei Senthavy attempted at another goal for Newman, but Dallas Baptist saved it. The final goal came in the 86^th minute mark for the Patriots, winning the game 4-1.
 
Newman had three shots that were all on target; two from Terry, one from Senthavy. Kayleigh Renfro had nine saves, allowing four goals. Dallas Baptist outshot the Jets 29-3.
 
The Jets will host Texas A&M International at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18.
