WICHITA - On Saturday, the Newman women's soccer team concluded its home season honoring the seniors: Tori Hostick, Mallory Hurst, Megan Hostick, Alli Zingo, Emily Arden and Holli Schletzbaum. The Jets loss to Texas-Permian Basin, 1-0.

The lady Jets came out strong firing 10 shots in the first period. At the 24th minute mark, sophomore Mei-Mei Senthavy came close to a goal for the Jets, but the ball took a slight curve hitting the post.

After 45 minutes of play, it was a tied match, 0-0. The jets came out firing again in the second half with 11 shots. The Falcons were able to make more opportunities; in the 77th minute, Texas-Permian Basin scored a goal that would lead to the 1-0 win. Senior Megan Hostick gave hope to Newman with five seconds left, but the shot was just shy of a goal.

The loss moves Newman to a 7-10-1 overall record and 2-7-1 in conference play.
