LAREDO, Texas - The Newman volleyball team traveled to take on conference opponent Texas A&M International on Saturday afternoon. The Jets were not able to handle the pressure of the Dustdevils losing 25-22, 25-14, 25-10 in the three-set match.
Newman came out strong in the first set in Laredo posting 18 kills while holding the Dustdevils to 13 kills. After a back-and-forth set, the Jets lost 25-22.
The Dustdevils controlled the tempo the rest of the match holding the Jets to 11 kills in the second set and seven kills in the third set. Newman loss the second set 25-14, and the third set 25-10. 
Overall, junior 
Haley Dotson led the team with 13 kills while junior 
Gabby Loxterman dished out 32 assists, and junior 
Tori Alderson had 13 digs. Senior 
Katelyn Schmidtberger had 10 kills and 10 digs.
Saturday's loss moves Newman to a 4-17 record and 2-11 in conference play. The Jets travel to take on the Falcons of Texas-Permian Basin on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m.
