Edmond, Okla. – Newman women's soccer went 0-2 this last weekend at the Edmond Fischer Classic. Friday the Jets loss to Oklahoma Southwestern 3-0 followed by Central Oklahoma on Sunday, 7-1.
Newman vs. Southwestern Okla.
-Freshman
Haley Borchers allowed three goals, but saved seven shots on goal.
-Bulldogs scored in the 59 minute mark, 79 minute mark and 86th minute.
-Sophomore
Blair Terry and seniors
Mallory Hurst and
Alli Zingo accumulated the Jets three shots on goals.
-Both the Jets and Bulldogs had seven fouls in the 3-0 loss for Newman.
Newman vs. Central Okla.
-Bronchos scored all seven points in the first 26 minutes against goalkeeper Borchers.
-Freshman
Kayleigh Renfro came in for Borchers after the 26 minute mark; saving four shots in 62 minutes of play.
-Hurst scored the only goal for the Jets in the 60
th minute off a run past the goalkeeper on the right side, assisted by Terry.
-Newman lost 7-1 against the Bronchos.
The Jets will host Okla. Christian Saturday, Sept. 15 at 5 p.m.
