Laredo, Texas - The Newman women's soccer team traveled for its first Heartland Conference game of the season against the Texas A&M International Dustdevils. The Jets were not able to take the win losing 4-0.
-The first two shots of the game came from Newman's
Bonnie Charlton and
Blair Terry in the first six minutes.
-In the 15th minute the first goal came from TAMIU's Karina Garcia taking the lead for the Dustdevils, 1-0.
-Newman fell 2-0 in the 28th minute mark.
-The third goal by the Dustdevils came with less than two minutes left in the first period.
-The final goal of the game came in the 60th minute from TAMIU's Whitney Fullmer.
-As a team the Jets had 14 shots with six shots on goal.
Newman's overall record is now 2-4 and 0-1 in conference play. The Jets take on St. Mary's on Saturday, Sept. 22.
