Dallas, Texas – The Newman volleyball team loss to Dallas Baptist on Thursday moving to a 1-2 record in Heartland Conference play. Junior Tori Anderson led the team with 19 digs while senior
Katelyn Schmidtberger had 11 kills.
-In the first set Newman had one more kill than Dallas Baptist with a total of 11 kills losing 25-19.
-The Patriots had 14 kills in the second set compared to the Jets 9 leading Dallas Baptist to a 25-13 win over Newman.
-Newman recorded more kills (14) than Dallas Baptist (11) in the third set, but it was not enough for the Jets as they loss the final set of the match, 25-20.
-Within the three-set match the Jets produced an attack percentage of .078 with four team blocks. Dallas Baptist had an attach percentage of .300 with nine team blocks.
Newman moves to a 3-6 overall record and 1-2 Heartland Conference record. The Jets will play at St. Edward's on Saturday, Sept. 22.
