San Antonio, Texas - The Nemwan women's soccer team beat St. Mary's 3-1 on Saturday. Seniors
Mallory Hurst and
Megan Hostick scored the three goals for the Jets; Hurst with two and M. Hostick with one.
St. Mary's Leah Snelson scored the first point in the 18th minute mark of the game, but the Jets answered less than 30 seconds later. Hurst drew the Rattler keeper out and quickly shot to make it a 1-1 tie.
The tie remained until 10 minutes into the second half. Once again, Hurst forced her way through the defense to give the Jets the first lead of the game.
Shortly after, M. Hostick received a cross from freshman
Bonnie Charlton putting the ball in the net for the third Jet point of the game. Going into the 60th minute Newman led 3-1.

Kayleigh Renfro earned the win with eight saves and one goal allowed.
After the first conference victory, the Jets move to a 3-4 overall record and 1-1 Heartland Conference record. The Jets will host St. Edward's Sept. 27 at 5 p.m.
