Volleyball Hosts NWOSU on Thursday in Pink Game

WICHITA – Newman volleyball hosts Northwestern Oklahoma State in its Pink Game on Thursday (Oct. 10) at 7 p.m. inside Fugate Gymnasium. Support breast cancer awareness by wearing pink to the match.
 
During intermission, there will be a serving contest for a chance to win free pizza. Fans can take their chance in the 50/50 raffle and show their support.
 
The Lady Jets are on a four-match winning streak and are currently 8-6 on the season. On Monday (Oct. 7), NU defeated Southwestern College, 3-1. Their three previous wins during the stretch came against Heartland Conference opponents: McMurry (3-2), Texas A&M International (3-1) and St. Mary's (3-0). The match is the last of a four match home stand.
 
The Rangers of Northwestern Oklahoma State are 2-14 on the season. After starting the season 0-5, NWOSU defeated Mid-America Christian and in their most recent contest, defeated Oklahoma Panhandle State, 3-1. Their offense is led by Asia Pipkin with 141 kills, Tiana Barnett has a team-high 345 assists, and Megan Hentschke leads NWOSU with 169 digs.
 
NU travels to Oklahoma Panhandle State on Friday (Oct. 11) for a Heartland Conference match at 5 p.m. in Goodwell, Okla.
