Box Score TOPEKA, Kan. – Newman women's soccer couldn't get its offense going in a 4-0 non-conference loss to Washburn on Sunday (Sept. 22) at Yager Stadium. After starting 2-0, the Lady Jets have dropped two straight and fell to 2-2 on the season, including going 0-2 on the road.
NU fell behind early in the sixth minute as the Ichabods put in a free kick from 13 yards out. WU scored again in the first half on a shot from 10-yards away. NU trailed 2-0 at halftime.
The Ichabods added two goals in the second half to win 4-0. The two goals came in the 52nd minute and 56th minute.
The Lady Jets offense was held to only four shots and none of them were on goal.
Mei-Mei Senthavy led NU with two shots. It was the first time the Lady Jets were shutout this season and also the first time Senthavy didn't score a goal in a game this season.
The Lady Jets travel to Emporia State on Wednesday (Sept. 25) for a 7 p.m. contest in Emporia, Kan.
